Upcycling sails project with high school students

After the session with Kaizu Meisei High School.

We were able to successfully complete the session with Kaizu Meisei High School.
Since then, I've received so many kind messages and questions from so many people on social media, and I'd like to thank them all.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all those involved at Kaizu Meisei High School for their tremendous cooperation.

Currently, the material processing and design of the bags have been finalized, and we are finally at the stage of producing samples!

Dyeing brings out new aspects of the material, yacht sails

"I want to create things that are filled with human passion."
This project was started with this idea in mind.

Rather than simply making it into an upcycled product, we started by reexamining the appeal of yacht sails themselves.

By dyeing the white sail, we don’t just change the appearance, but the inherent texture and expression of the material are brought out by the color, revealing scratches, wrinkles, and the shades that change depending on how the light hits them.
Through dyeing, it has been transformed into the ideal material.

Functional and expressive design that brings out the best in the material

We focused not only on the look created by the dyeing process, but also on the inherent high quality of the material used: yacht sails.

High strength and excellent waterproofing.
This material is used in harsh environments, making it extremely valuable when making bags.

I feel that we have created a one-of-a-kind product that combines function, expression, and thought.

In order to make the most of these characteristics, we paid careful attention to the details of the bag.
We pursue structure, design, and sewing that not only "shows off the material," but also "makes the most of the material."

This product is suitable for a wide range of uses, including everyday use, outdoor activities, and festivals.

It's a shame we can't unveil this product yet.

The sample unveiling event scheduled for August at Kaizu Meisei High School will be featured in the next blog post!
