The selvage parts of fabrics discarded at a textile factory in India are hand-knitted one by one by local women using traditional methods. Like other items, it is knitted from T-shirt fabric, so it feels good against the skin. It also stretches moderately, making it very easy to use. It comes with a T-shirt fabric drawstring pouch (pictured).
Please note that this product is entirely handmade by knitting cut-off selvage parts from knitwear, so there may be individual differences.
What is PROJECT1000? It is an employment project initiated by "Shanti," an NPO established by the TecnoCraft Group, a publicly listed company in India. Its aim is to provide women in rural Maharashtra, India, with skills to earn 1000 rupees a day, while simultaneously boosting their motivation. Products are entirely handmade by individuals who have acquired expertise in product knowledge, design, technology, and quality control.
